2017 Annual “Wave of Wellness” Campaign Launched

LAMÈQUE – The 2017 Annual  “Wave of Wellness” Campaign organized by La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc. was officially launched this morning.

A financial target of $40,000 has been set this year. This money will be used to purchase equipment for the Laboratory, Medical Unit, and chronic disease treatment services, as well as to support our regional hospital’s major campaign ($10,000). “The Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque plays an important role in the care and services provided at our facility,” said Shelley Robichaud, Primary Health Care Director for Vitalité Health Network.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity for the foundation to announce the names of its first partners:
• Staff of the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre;
• Town of Lamèque;
• Northern Star – UNI Coopération financière;
• Island Fishermen Cooperative Association Ltd.;
• Christian Larocque Services Ltée;
• Village of Ste-Marie-St-Raphael
• Shoppers Drug Mart of Lamèque and Groupe Belle-Ile Inc.

“Contributing to our foundation’s annual campaign is much more than simply making a donation. Your generosity will directly impact the quality of care and services delivered to our patients. We hope that the generosity shown by the partners announced this morning will encourage others to follow suit,” said Yoland Chiasson, Chairman of La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc.

The mission of La Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque Inc. is to raise funds in support of the Lamèque Hospital and Community Health Centre’s development priorities in order to meet our community’s changing needs effectively.
