The Lamèque Hospital Foundation has the wind in its sails: Long-time donors announce their commitment to the campaign!

Lamèque, November 9, 2021 – The fundraising campaign, whose objective is to raise $300,000 for the development of the Family Medicine Unit (FMU), continues and once again the partners are responding to the invitation.  The chairperson of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Norma Aubut, and the members of the Board of Directors are pleased to publicly introduce the following donors who have agreed to support this priority project for our establishment:

  • Christian Larocque Services Ltée – $25,000
  • Restaurant Au P’tit Mousse – $25,000
  • Pêcheries Belles Iles Fisheries Ltd – $10,000
  • Ville de Lamèque – $10,000

Several spaces and rooms have been named after these donors to recognize their support. Thanks to these partners, the campaign has already reached 83% of its objective and other donors will be announced in the coming weeks.

“It is very encouraging and motivating for the staff of the establishment to see this support from the community. This support will allow us to improve the services and care we can offer to the population,” said Ms. Shelley Robichaud, the establishment’s representative on the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

A campaign that responds to urgent needs

The Lamèque Hospital & CHC FMU is staffed by five physicians, three nurse practitioners, and nursing and administrative support staff. The expansion will improve patient and staff comfort and access to primary health care for the community. Health care professionals will be better equipped to provide enhanced services.
