SEVEN HOSPITAL FOUNDATIONS IN THE NORTH SHINE THANKS TO THE NORTHERN STAR!

January 6, 2016 – The hospital foundations of the Chaleur region, Acadian Peninsula, Restigouche, Saint-quentin and Grand Falls, in collaboration with the participating Caisses populaires acadiennes, are proud to announce that the amount of $ 97,040.72 was raised during the eleventh edition of the Northern Star.

Mini-Christmas trees were sold in various businesses and all branches of the region’s Caisses populaires acadiennes during the month of December. “The partnership between the four foundations and the region’s Caisses populaires clearly demonstrates that by working together, our communities can accomplish great things. Our staff members, who adopted the project, continue to be directly involved in its success. Mini-Christmas trees decorated the walls of the region’s Caisses populaires acadiennes and demonstrated how much the people of our communities support the projects of the foundations’ 2013 Annual Campaign,” Hermel Chiasson, representative of the region’s Caisses populaires acadiennes.

The representatives from each foundation wish to thank the participating Caisses populaires acadiennes as well as Coop de Lamèque and Coop IGA Extra in Caraquet for committing to selling mini Christmas trees. Thank you also to École Place-des-Jeunes for presenting a $308-cheque to the Northern Star Campaign for the Chaleur region. 100% of the funds raised with the Northern Star will be used to purchase equipment that will improve the services provided in our local hospitals.
