TOGETHER FOR THE 2017 ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

Tracadie-Sheila, June 20, 2017 – Today the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc. presented Vitalité Health Network with a cheque of $90,000 as part of the 2017 annual campaign. This money was raised from donors to the annual campaign and through the public’s support of Foundation special events such as the Northern Star, the Roses Radiothon, etc.

The purpose of this official ceremony, held with a number of guests and dignitaries in attendance, was to publicize the projects that will be undertaken thanks to the 2017 annual campaign, to highlight the work done by the various committees, to thank the generous donors, and to announce the final result of the annual campaign.

Thanks to the annual campaign, the following equipment will now be available at our hospital: bariatric equipment (bed, patient lift, and commode), a therapeutic mattress, mirrors (that will be added to bedside tables), and new 21-inch and 24-inch chairs. The Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc. will also be able to support our regional hospital’s major fundraising campaign as we recognize how important it is for our local patients, as well as for future generations, to have access to specialized services right here in our region.

The Chair of the Annual Campaign of the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc., André Morais, expressed his contentment with the result. “This year’s campaign objective was $90,000 and with a result of $96,220 we have shown that our community’s health is a priority in our region and that together we can improve it.”

For his part, Philippe Ferguson, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc., wished to provide an update on the foundation’s contribution. “It is important to stress that the generosity shown by everyone during our various fundraisers has allowed us to invest an amount of $4 million in our hospital since our foundation was established in 1988!”

The mission of the Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie Inc. is to raise funds to improve the health care services provided at the Tracadie-Sheila Hospital.
